Rochester Mills Production Brewery Taproom NOW OPEN

The Taproom at the Rochester Mills Production Brewery in Auburn Hills, Michigan is now open to the public on Thursdays & Fridays from 4-10pm and on Saturdays from 2-10pm. Currently the Taproom has 6 taps pouring that will feature the current Seasonal and Flavored Milkshake Stout offerings as well as some of the brewery’s more elusive and limited releases (some of which will be available to go in 4 packs of cans exclusively at the Taproom). All of the brewery’s beers packaged in freshly filled cans are also available.

The Taproom does not offer a food menu so you are welcome to bring your own meals and snacks or have a pizza delivered. On pre-announced occasions and events the Brewery has, and will continue to arrange for, Street Food from local food trucks such as The Mean Weenie. (We have also been know to pop some corn and set pretzel sticks out on the bar top just to get you thirsty).

The Taproom opens with the following beer menu:

What’s on Tap

Additional Core Beers available from the Can

TAP 1. Slam Dunkel  (Lager – Dunkel Munich) 6% ABV, 21 IBU

Ratings quarters small r400

A dark, slightly sweet, delight with hints of banana, pear and apple from the heffeweizen yeast.
 TAP 2. Newton’s ALEchemy (DIPA) 8.8% ABV, 88 IBU

Ratings quarters small r375

Brewed with a precisely calculated “mountain of hops” to exploit the gravitational pull of today’s craft beer drinker toward the big and delightful bitterness bliss commonly found in American Double IPAs of the highest caliber. Newton’s ALEchemy gets the bulk of its flavor from Pure Michigan™ Cascade hops grown just a few miles up the road from the brewery. It’s smooth bitterness is derived from the power of Magnum hops. The brew is finished with dry hopped additions of Citra & Calypso hops for a complex fruity, citrusy aroma. The result is truly liquid Gold, the elusive quest of Newton and alchemists of his day.
TAP 3. Imperial Milkshake Stout (Stout – Milk) 8.5% ABV, 30 IBU

Ratings quarters small r400

The addition of even more of the four different malts we use, along with a low hop level creates a deep dark beer featuring rich, sweet roasted flavors. The addition of lactose (milk sugar) adds complexity, body, and a residual sweetness lending a smooth creamy texture to this full-flavored and now full bodied brew. This brew is the Day 1 beer of our “12 Days of Milkshake Stout” Event.

Euphorious Tap
TAP 4. Euphorious (Brown Ale – Other) 7.7% ABV, 22 IBU

Ratings quarters small r375

Brown Ale Brewed With Maple Syrup Aged in Bourbon Barrels. This award winning seasonal beer was brewed to signify the time of the year when the local Maple syrup producers start tapping their trees to collect sap, while providing you with some alcoholic warmth during these often frigid Winter months in hope of an early Spring. We then aged it in Bourbon barrels. It is a full-flavored malty beer featuring a toasted, nutty character and a hint of maple flavor and aroma. The Bourbon barrel aging adds vanilla notes and increases the alcohol level.

150 Blueberry Pancake
TAP 5. Blueberry Pancake Milkshake Stout (Stout – Milk & Fruit) 5.2% ABV, 19 IBU

Ratings quarters small r400

One of our fan favorites from the 12 Days of Milkshake Stout, Blueberry Pancake Flavored Mikshake Stout™ is a unique brew that surprises the senses combining the distinct scent and taste of blueberries layered with the familiar taste of Milkshake Stout™ and a pleasant aftertaste of pancakes. Blueberry Pancake bridges the gap and appeals to non-beer drinkers as well. Limited Release and by special arrangement.

TAP 6. Dubbel Fisted (Belgian Dubbel) 8% ABV, 21 IBU

Ratings quarters small r400

Dubbel Fisted is a complex, rich, malty sweet beer with hints of caramel and toast. It presents a fruity aroma reminiscent of raisins, plums and banana with a whiff of clove and spice. The flavor profile of this beer is similar to its aroma with the addition of dried fruits. There is virtually no hop bitterness to this Belgian-style Dubbel. This is a medium bodied beer that pours a dark copper color topped by a creamy, dense, off-white head. Belgian candi sugar was used in brewing this beer, a traditional ingredient in stronger Belgian beers, to amplify its flavor and boost its alcoholic strength. The result is a beer that is higher in alcohol at 8.0% but it hides it well, meaning it is easy to drink and doesn’t have a harsh alcohol taste.
